Young and self-taught artist, Herns Duplan meets Katherine Dunham in Haiti at the age of 20 years old and includes the Afroamerican Dance company, « La Katherine Dunham Company ».

Dancer and afterwards, teacher, he's actively involved for 6 years in the reputation of the company, while he deeps his skills in the stage arts and learns about the anthropology.

He refused any specialization. He leads the USA and the world with his professional stage experience, playing music, percussion, dancing, in theatre, singing…, it reinvest in pedagogy, laying the foundation of his approach.

He arrived in the dark. The night had already installed and it rushed me to two other people. But it was his back that I recognized. I am always surprised by its relatively small while in my mind, it is high. Easy reunion. Whatever the location, the surroundings, the conditions, it seems at ease, away, fluid, flowing, friendly. He laughs easily, is delighted. While dancing to it. His word, very vivid, like his approach. Its relation to the other is feminine, very smoothly.
  
Installation at the hotel while chatting little things, shared memories. A disgusting smell of disinfectant unidentified permeates the lobby but he does not complain. It fits. He is tired. He worked hard all day at university, I think. Then packed train journey from Paris to Niort. His bag weighs heavy weight of his African djembe - what his round, serious... It's full of youth but his eyes betray him: he goes to sleep drop everything.
  
Saturday morning, I'm a little late. He was already waiting for me on the side of the road! Ready to attack. We are the first to arrive at the Dance Hall of the Centre Duguesclin. The door is still closed. I had dreamed might happen after the other to feel welcome. Usually, this would upset me - this Saturday, more than ever, I want it to be a perfect day, everyone is satisfied, its thirst assouvisse rhythm, singing, invites her body to trade, make of finds, feel the beat even harder ... I'm on edge - sprained knee, four falls in two weeks, bruises everywhere, I can not dance, not even hitting the feet. But his magic has already operated. I feel no disappointment, no anxiety. The dancers come gradually, alone or in clusters. The good mood is palpable. He is preparing his djembe and grants; no metal keys! Hommanage à Henri SambaThe first exchanges are interesting. It is precise , his immense methodological baggage is noticeable. He explains its objectives. Relevant, but a bit long for me , because we are standing as pegs and I tire immediately. He knows what he's doing. It launches the first exercises and everything will be chained to regular and intense pace , by providing the necessary breaks , climbing power difficulty rhythms, the concentration requirement , the acceleration of the tempo. Everything is done to strengthen our ties , promote our anchor , exchanging glances, movements discipline , require the input of the time, value the effort. 3) I REALLY LOVE DJEMBE SESSIONS AS THEY HAVE PERMIT ME ME LET OFF STEAM INSTRUMENT. I THINK THIS MAY HELP PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIFFICULTY IN RHYTHM. HAVE CAUSED THE VILLAGE DICTEES OUR EARS AND WHEN ON IMPROVISING, I HAVE FELT MAKING AN LACHER.

TROIS ANS APRES

Henri Samba chez PRIM'ACORPSFlute, Zut. Flute , Heck . I felt the muse over my shoulder, I wrote of trafficking despite the week already passed. The wave of rhythm tapped yet . I expected returns of the tribe who had moved , confident, a bit chilly Sunday of April 26, 2015 , into the room with the round floor. And suddenly , everything flies away forever through improper handling. I curse this blog, this machine misfortune that persists . I rant and give up.
I await the contributions of all to this report but we must open the way / voice for Henri to Darry , his sidekick a day our sidekick forever. I commend myself .

Three years later ...
Henri Samba has already come to meet our tribe and went away after making a village.
Three years ago. Re-invite a friend and a teacher is not without risk. The really want ? Will he succeed once again the feat of the first edition ? Nostalgia for the perfect day can creep slyly .
This time he arrives the day before and spent several hours with us , still as charming and positive despite the fatigue of a big week of work. It evokes the course of the following day and involves me more. He left saying he wanted to co-host with me and he has not forgotten . He trusts !
